We will use a Modified Stableford format using team total points (based on net). Stableford is a form of stroke play in which play is against par at each hole.
The USGA rules for stroke play apply except when local rules override.
We will play honors on the tee box and green.
The points are as follows:
Net Bogey .................................... 1
Net Par .................................... 2
Net Birdie .................................... 3
Net Eagle ..................................... 4
Net Double Eagle ........................ 5
Net Double Bogey or worse ....... 0 (Pick Up your ball).
Once your individual score is at Net Double Bogey you will pick up as you are out of the points. The winning team at the end of 18 holes is the team with the most total points. Everyone will play their own ball tee to green and the best net score of the twosome team resulting in points is used.
Since the player is actually playing individually against the course (par) in Stableford, there is no need for Flights. Each club will pair 8 players of their choice in four twosome teams. No handicap index limitations.
Each club may also provide up to two additional players to play in the Captains' Flight during each match. The Captain's flight is not a part of Team Play competition.
Cost will be determined individually by each Host Club based on their club requirements.
All LOPWGC members are encouraged to participate. Doesn't matter what your handicap is. A limit of 40 pops will be allowed. What does matter is that you want to participate in a team atmosphere.
At the beginning of the season links will be emailed to all club members on how to sign-up online. To sign up goto Sign up for Team Play
Everyone is encouraged to sign up no matter how many players have already signed up. The teams for that particular match will then be determined by the captions.
